Ever since the show The City, I’ve been a fan of Olivia Palermo’s style. Her ability to mix high and low end pieces in addition to wearing the same piece multiple times has always brought me inspiration. Needless to say, anytime I can recreate a look she wears with pieces already in my closet, I’m on it.
When I saw Palermo in a pair of culottes and a pleated top I knew I had an outfit I could put together. The perks of not having a massive closet is you tend to know the pieces you have by heart, so when I see an outfit I like and can recreate, I can quickly think of the pieces to put together. When you want to recreate a look, you don’t necessarily need the exact pieces. In my case, I had similar items but with a different color palette, then of course added my own personal style with a belt with zipper detail.
2) A good pair of suede pumps are key for fall. I love these specifically because the heel height isn’t too high. I don’t know about you guys, but 3″ is all I can handle nowadays 😉 My favorite color are the olive because it’s such a versatile color. The stud detail on the back of the shoes is also a nice touch.
3) I have yet to pull the trigger on a pair of boyfriend jeans, but this fall might be the year I get a pair! The raw cuffed edge of these Rag & Bone jeans [and the color] are what sold me on keeping my eye on them for a future purchase!
4) Vests, vests, vests. I cannot get enough of them. This season I would love to add one to my collection that acts more like a coat. You can layer suede and leather jackets under it and big chunky sweaters. You can even wear it as a dress if your heart desires!
I love a great all black look. Typically when I style an outfit this way, I incorporate different materials and textures. In this case, I styled my go to LBD slip dress with my favorite leather jacket. A waist belt with zipper detail and leopard booties tied everything together.
When the lovely ladies from local boutique Rowe asked me to be in their annual fashion show I was just too smitten! The fashion show is not only a great way to view the latest fall fashion from the boutique, but part of the proceeds from ticket sales go to supporting the Jack Roth Fund, an amazing organization that helps raise money for lung cancer research.
The outfit they styled me in was a gorgeous [and comfortable] wool coat, a gray graphic tank, girlfriend jeans and an ear jacket. The makeup artist was amazing and needless to say I am not use to having my eye brows like this, but I dug it!
It was my first time walking down a runway but I decided to just go with the flow. The ladies also asked me to take a selfie mid runway, so I went for it! Sometimes you need to step out of your comfort zone and this was by far one for me! I honestly don’t even remember going down the runway because it happened so fast and there were so many lights!
