I hope everyone had a great Christmas! Can you believe 2017 is only a few days away? This year has flown by; however, I’m pretty excited to see what 2017 has in store for me. Whether you’re attending a fancy party, having a low key night at home or at a friends, or simply enjoying the new year in your sleep, I’ve rounded up some fun NYE outfit ideas for you (no dress required).
Wide leg pants are always a good idea when paired with sexy lace and sheer detail.
It’s snow all over your pumps season, folks. Although, a little snow won’t stop me from polishing off a look with this closet staple – especially on my birthday weekend. For this look I styled my favorite Aritzia black slip dress as a skirt. I layered a keyhole blouse over the dress and belted it to give the illusion of a skirt and top. To keep myself warm (while still staying dressy) I added my favorite Vince Camuto military style coat.
The boyfriend asked “is your necklace supposed to be that tangled?” My response: “No, but I like it so let’s roll with it.”
Not going to lie, this cold weather is making me feel all kinds of “meh.” One thing that helps me kick the winter blues is a lot of brightness – white bright to be exact. Ever since I was younger the whole “no white after labor day” rule never applied to me because white is a shade that makes up a majority of my closet. There are different variations of how you can mix your whites and neutrals during winter (matchy matchy white or shades of whites and neutrals). For this look, I styled a camel coat with white skinny jeans, taupe boots and a cream sweater.
Is it Friday yet? I feel like the majority of my closet is work wear (hence the high neck top in this post) so when it comes time for a girls night out, I immediately gravitate towards the color black – all black, to be specific. I love this sheer sleeve blouse because it’s appropriate for the office, but when paired with skinny jeans, bold accessories and a hot pink lip it’s perfect for a night out on the town.
Holiday office parties are about to be in full force and I’m here to show you a look that is crazy easy to put together. You more than likely already have a pair of black slacks and a white button down in your closet. All you need is a holiday inspired top to be the layering piece to these closet classics. For my look, I styled a sequined top over my button down. You could also layer a velvet or satin camisole over the button down – the options are endless.

If you follow me, you know I don’t have many handbags – I’m pretty peculiar when it comes to style, size and functionality. I’m so excited to be partnering with Cocovann because their handbags check all those items off of my list. My favorite? The Women’s Slip-Through Strap Leather Satchel. This bag is the perfect size and it has functional compartments on the inside. The neutral color and subtle gold hardware allow the bag to go with just about any outfit! The shoulder strap is removable so you can wear the bag as a cross body or traditional handbag.
I’ve styled the bag as a cross body with a casual track pant look.

Pinterest plays a big part when it comes to my outfit inspiration [you can follow my inspiration board here]. Brand lookbooks and blogger style allow me to think outside of the box when creating an outfit. J.Crew really inspires me to mix prints to give what seem like basic pieces in my closet an instant refresh.
For my J.Crew inspired look [minus the J.Crew] I styled a Gap denim jacket I’ve had since I was 13 [had an early growth spurt people], an H&M striped top, Forever21 jacket I’ve had for years, black slacks and Nine West loafers.
No need to put away your light weight summer-to-fall transition jackets just yet. Even though the temps are dropping, you can still make use out of them! All you need to do is to layer one of your favorite jackets [that you would typically wear alone] under the light weight style of your choice. The jacket on jacket look adds contrast to your outfit while providing that extra layer of warmth you need.
Ohio has finally decided to be fall where it’s chilly enough that a sweater is necessary. With that said, layering [my favorite] is required for a lot of my outfits.
The bell sleeve trend was big over the summer and is continuing into fall. For this look, I styled a gorgeous bell sleeve sweater from Forever 21 under a classic black blazer. The bell sleeves peeking through the bottom of the blazer sleeves adds a unique touch. Pairing the sweater and blazer with my go-to wide leg pants and black pumps completed the look.
