I love a good floral and stripe combo as much as the next person – but if you’re apprehensive to mix prints, there are subtle ways you can do so if you do not want to take the style too far.
I adore this floral pencil skirt from the Who What Wear collection for Target. Even though this specific print is sold out, they have other printed pencil skirts that would be a great addition to your closet. I styled the skirt with a Forever 21 bell sleeve top with minimal stripes to give the look that mixed print feel.
In desperate need of new workout shoes, I stumbled across two comfortable pairs at Famous Footwear who currently have a BOGO half off + additional 15% off deal going on. I was able to get a pair of New Balance shoes [for running around town and all] and Sketchers minimal shoes [for my krav maga classes since they require a lot of footwork]. Two pairs for only $78? Score.
I had the opportunity to be featured in an upcoming coffee table and e-book that showcases local artists, shops, neighborhoods and eateries throughout Columbus. The Columbus Book Project will be launching in spring 2017 and I cannot wait to see the finished product. They asked many of the local bloggers [fashion and food] to come together and be featured as some of the city’s top contributors. Needless to say, the shoot was amazing because all of the bloggers are a joy to be around.
For the shoot, I chose to wear:
-My white wide legged pants, because they’re my favorite
-A crop top that I scored at a Fashion for Philanthropy event awhile back
-Flatform sandals, because there was no way I was climbing on a scaffold in heels [more on that later 😉 ]
-A snake print belt, because it was the first one I grabbed that fit through the pant belt loops [yes, sometimes function can totally drive an unexpected form].
For the shoot, we had individual shots and a group shot on a large scaffolding structure. I volunteered to be on the top floor [hence the sandals]. Overall, it was a ton of fun and I cannot wait for spring of next year to see the shots!
In addition to having Monday off of work, there’s all kinds of sales going on this weekend. You can snag summer items at great prices, stock up on fall and winter pieces, OR [what I’m going to try and do] is get a jump start on Christmas shopping so I’m not down to the wire like normal.
Check out the sales and my picks of different items below
Bright flats are a wardrobe staple that can spice up any look. The great thing about bright colored flats is that they transition well from summer to fall. You can add a pop of color to your darker jeans and leather jackets, or contrast bright flats against a pair of dark panty hose.
A pair of statement earrings is something that should definitely be a part of your accessory wardrobe. You can dress up a casual outfit or basic piece with them, or add interest to an already quirky and stylish look.
Sometimes trying to be stylish in this heat is a challenge. I’ve probably worn this H&M tank top 20 times since I’ve purchased it. The print is unique and style flowy and flattering. I kept it simple with small stud earrings, 90s inspired flatform sandals and my go-to sunglasses.
