I love a romper as much as the next person; however, I do like the pieces I purchase to be versatile. Instead of adding a romper to my wardrobe this summer I found this perfect matching short+top set from H&M and had to have it. With this look, I’m able to wear both pieces together to fake a romper, or I can wear them as separates. This print is perfect for summer and will work well into fall with the combination of dark and bright hues. Stay tuned for future posts to see how I style the pieces separately.
I love it when local bloggers are able to get together and mingle [especially when food is involved]. The lovely Candace from Live Love and Read put together a night of bloggers+tacos at the Kitchen Columbus last night and of course I used the opportunity for a photo opp.
I have purchased a few items from Zara over the years but would always end up returning due to fit. This off the shoulder crop top is the first purchase I made that I actually kept. I love the tops unique print and style. I paired the top with Mango high waisted kick flare jeans and simple black sandals.

Here in Ohio the heat and humidity is all kinds of intense. Since I walk to work, I’m always trying to wear outfits that are airy so I’m not drenched in sweat by the time I get to the office. I own this amazing white cami dress from ASOS that I purchased for NYE a few years ago but unfortunately it’s a little too riskay around the neckline and not very office friendly. One morning I quickly threw a chiffon button down from H&M over the dress and tied it at the waist and thought to myself “hm, this could work.” I wasn’t a fan of the tied waist so instead I added an ASOS waist belt to give the outfit the illusion of a shirt and skirt.

Brides nowadays are allowing a lot more contrast when it comes to their wedding party:
Some still go full blown matching style + color
There’s matching colors but different styles
Different hues of the same color with matching styles
Different hues of the same color with different styles
..And in my case, a list of colors with free reign over print, length, material and style.
This was by far the easiest [and wallet friendly] bridesmaids dress I’ve ever had to find!
A lot of the other bridesmaids went the floral route, but I chose a solid taupe/gray maxi with high halter neckline and double slit detail. It was also fun to help some ladies pick out their dresses and see everyone’s style come together and make something beautiful.
Tell me brides-to-be, would you be this laid back/versatile? Just take a look at the finished product and you may think twice about going the traditional route!
2) A good pair of suede pumps are key for fall. I love these specifically because the heel height isn’t too high. I don’t know about you guys, but 3″ is all I can handle nowadays 😉 My favorite color are the olive because it’s such a versatile color. The stud detail on the back of the shoes is also a nice touch.
3) I have yet to pull the trigger on a pair of boyfriend jeans, but this fall might be the year I get a pair! The raw cuffed edge of these Rag & Bone jeans [and the color] are what sold me on keeping my eye on them for a future purchase!
4) Vests, vests, vests. I cannot get enough of them. This season I would love to add one to my collection that acts more like a coat. You can layer suede and leather jackets under it and big chunky sweaters. You can even wear it as a dress if your heart desires!
You know those nights where the weather is so perfect [not too hot] that you’re able to mix long sleeves and shorts and still be comfortable? Yep, this night was one of them. I mixed some light and dark prints for a bright and flirty look.
The boyfriend and I took a stroll around short north to a bunch of different bars. Our last stop was a new bar called Eagles that opened up. I highly recommend the fried chicken and biscuits.
A girl I used to work with reached out to me and asked if I would be interested in modeling for her friends July issue of the magazine she was about to launch. After working at the Rowe fashion show I felt a little more comfortable modeling [and I can’t pass up a chance to play dress up] so I said yes.
We spent the day taking photos in Schiller Park and I was able to wear this super gorgeous Ulla Johnson dress. Once the magazine went to print, the owner held a launch party at a new bar that opened up in Columbus – Standard Hall. I was able to get a peek of the brand new bar before it opened and strut my stuff down a runway in the dress I wore for the mag. The event was such a blast and the other models were the sweetest.
Summer is always the trickiest season for me. Since it gets so hot outside, you’re somewhat limited to how you can put things together – you’re kind of just stuck with putting one piece or two pieces together.
Even though it’s hot out, that shouldn’t stop you from experimenting with layering. With this look specifically I took a tunic tank top and layered it over a high waisted pleated midi skirt. Rather than a belt, I used a colorful scarf to add contrast to the look. My favorite emerald flats finished off the look with that additional added pop of color.
