Pinterest plays a big part when it comes to my outfit inspiration [you can follow my inspiration board here]. Brand lookbooks and blogger style allow me to think outside of the box when creating an outfit. J.Crew really inspires me to mix prints to give what seem like basic pieces in my closet an instant refresh.
For my J.Crew inspired look [minus the J.Crew] I styled a Gap denim jacket I’ve had since I was 13 [had an early growth spurt people], an H&M striped top, Forever21 jacket I’ve had for years, black slacks and Nine West loafers.
Brides nowadays are allowing a lot more contrast when it comes to their wedding party:
Some still go full blown matching style + color
There’s matching colors but different styles
Different hues of the same color with matching styles
Different hues of the same color with different styles
..And in my case, a list of colors with free reign over print, length, material and style.
This was by far the easiest [and wallet friendly] bridesmaids dress I’ve ever had to find!
A lot of the other bridesmaids went the floral route, but I chose a solid taupe/gray maxi with high halter neckline and double slit detail. It was also fun to help some ladies pick out their dresses and see everyone’s style come together and make something beautiful.
Tell me brides-to-be, would you be this laid back/versatile? Just take a look at the finished product and you may think twice about going the traditional route!
