Minimalist, prep, tomboy, Parisian chic – there are so many styles out there that I love seeing women share. Now that summer is around the corner, one style I like to see the most is eclectic style. Mixed prints, bright colors and bohemian accessories all compiled into one show stopping outfit. The best way to create an eclectic look is to put together items in your wardrobe you wouldn’t think to combine – don’t be afraid to take risks! I’ve styled one of my favorite printed skirts with a bright top, olive bomber and my favorite Who What Wear snake print sandals.
I’m over the snow and the cold that’s for sure. If there’s one thing I buy the most it’s probably shoes. I tend to drag my feet, walk through mud puddles and basically thrash my shoes, so I feel like every 3 or 4 years I need to sadly replace the ones I love.
Espadrilles are something I have my eye on for spring / summer because the pair I own is toast. Espadrille flats are perfect for every day and espadrille wedges are great for casual days or nights out. I’m on the prowl for some flats, but I’ve rounded up some AMAZING picks for you to browse yourself. Enjoy! *feature image via pinterest
Whether your outfit is flashy or on the minimalist side, shoes are always a great accessory to your holiday outfit. Shoes can be great inspiration to start your outfit, or they can be used as the final piece to put your look together. Pumps, block heels, strappy sandals, flats, oxfords, velvet, glitter, lace – the options are endless. My favorite style? Holiday shoes I can rewear not just for the holidays! I bought these Old Navy Velvet Pumps for under $40 – score.
I had the opportunity to be featured in an upcoming coffee table and e-book that showcases local artists, shops, neighborhoods and eateries throughout Columbus. The Columbus Book Project will be launching in spring 2017 and I cannot wait to see the finished product. They asked many of the local bloggers [fashion and food] to come together and be featured as some of the city’s top contributors. Needless to say, the shoot was amazing because all of the bloggers are a joy to be around.
For the shoot, I chose to wear:
-My white wide legged pants, because they’re my favorite
-A crop top that I scored at a Fashion for Philanthropy event awhile back
-Flatform sandals, because there was no way I was climbing on a scaffold in heels [more on that later 😉 ]
-A snake print belt, because it was the first one I grabbed that fit through the pant belt loops [yes, sometimes function can totally drive an unexpected form].
For the shoot, we had individual shots and a group shot on a large scaffolding structure. I volunteered to be on the top floor [hence the sandals]. Overall, it was a ton of fun and I cannot wait for spring of next year to see the shots!
Sometimes trying to be stylish in this heat is a challenge. I’ve probably worn this H&M tank top 20 times since I’ve purchased it. The print is unique and style flowy and flattering. I kept it simple with small stud earrings, 90s inspired flatform sandals and my go-to sunglasses.
I love a romper as much as the next person; however, I do like the pieces I purchase to be versatile. Instead of adding a romper to my wardrobe this summer I found this perfect matching short+top set from H&M and had to have it. With this look, I’m able to wear both pieces together to fake a romper, or I can wear them as separates. This print is perfect for summer and will work well into fall with the combination of dark and bright hues. Stay tuned for future posts to see how I style the pieces separately.
I love it when local bloggers are able to get together and mingle [especially when food is involved]. The lovely Candace from Live Love and Read put together a night of bloggers+tacos at the Kitchen Columbus last night and of course I used the opportunity for a photo opp.
I have purchased a few items from Zara over the years but would always end up returning due to fit. This off the shoulder crop top is the first purchase I made that I actually kept. I love the tops unique print and style. I paired the top with Mango high waisted kick flare jeans and simple black sandals.
